Biography of PATRICIA O'HARA

O’HARA, Patricia (Mrs. Richard Schneider) (active 1993). Born in British Columbia, and active in Vancouver, O’Hara studied at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver; at the Banff School of Fine Arts; and in Mexico. She has also travelled to Spain, Fiji, Australia, and France. Working with acrylic, ink, oil, collage, stitched canvas, and mixed media, she is an abstract artist. She uses found objects such as plastic cutlery, handkerchiefs and postcards combined with images of snakes, ladders, leaves, arches and gardens to create patterns of texture and colour. She has created several series with table settings, fans, kites, and tulips. She also created an Old Vancouver print series in 1972 depicting old houses and buildings.
